360° speaker designed by Pieter Maes, gives a true, object-based surround experience.This sphere has references to Buckminster Fuller. It’s more an art installation/object than a practical speaker. It turns the concept of surround inside-out into an object-based surround object. The only way to order the circular speakercones in a balanced way, was to use the structure first used by Buckminster fuller, also known as the bucky ball.
The 360° speaker becomes in effect a true, object-based surround experience. The speaker cones are internally attached to a spider-like structure which is invisible from the outside.
