Exchange information with Handshake

Handshake is designed to exchange basic information with new people in the first meeting by shaking hands.

The most essential part of a nomadic life is frequent travel. Similarly, nowadays people are traveling more often. In fact, it has become easier to move from one place to another. Increasing opportunities to travel indicates increasing opportunities of meeting new people. We are interested in expanding social networks when traveling around world.
Shaking hands is a customary action of greeting other people. This product brings the action one step further by creating an actual function. When people first meet and shake hands, the ring on their fingers get close enough to operate. The rings exchange their user’s information and store them whole they are shaking hands. The more people they meet, the more information they have. When the users browse through the people they have met, the card displays their basic information that was stored in the ring. The power source is provided from human temperature, so it doesn’t need any plug.

Oh brother! What a dumb ass idea. What if you don’t want to give their info to the person they are shaking hands with?
It so much easier just to give a card.

Hey now that is a nifty little gadget. If it wasn’t for my fear of data mining all my personal information it would be something I would consider getting.
Interesting concept, though it looks a little far fetched at the moment. Not to mention how much more expensive this would be than just getting a bunch of business cards, and that both people would need to own it in order for it to work.
Wow, that is some scary New World Order stuff! Talk about taking the fun, spontaneity and privacy out of everything!

What a cool concept. Ring is kinda stylish too. Very futuristic looking.

Sounds like a great idea, but I know there are times when I don’t want to give someone my phone number, email, or even my full name. Maybe if you could select an information mode on the ring like “work, social, blank”
I love the concept, and the ring + card interface.
This is a stupid idea. You will NEVER get people to wear a ring (that everyone else is wearing as well) all the time.

Interesting idea…must say….
Question is , at what juncture would this be of utility…certainly not at this point….considering the costs….
That is creepy, its just a way to ease in RFID chip thing into our lives and make it seem okay.
I just wanted to comment here… First, this idea sucks. This is just one more product that will serve only further reduce our privacy. There is no reason anyone you are meeting for the first time should EVER be able to get this much information about you without even having to ask. What if you don’t want this person to have your information? But then you shake hands and Oops, they have it whether you want them to or not. Secondly, trust not the makers of any product who feel the need to include statements like, “In fact, it has become easier to move from one place to another.” Well no shit, sherlock. Welcome to the Twenty-First century, where traveling from one place to another doesn’t involve a covered wagon, your entire family, and dysentery. Also, there is the fact that they typed/ wrote this and then posted it without thoroughly reading through to make sure that “while” isn’t accidentally down as “whole” (which is how the ninth sentence actually reads). Although to be fair, the people who created this are probably too busy coming up with more brilliant ideas (possibly earrings that can tune into the frequency of cell phones around you so you can eavesdrop on local gossip) to worry about the small things, like proofreading.

Maybe it can get a little complicated if used in a different way.
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!
I always have trouble remembering people and loose contact with people easily wich is sad. It would be cool if you could log your card onto the net to update your details and it would aoutomatically update on everybodys card so you can always be found. LOVE IT I WANT ONE!
Also would like to add that it would save me loads on buisness cards (once it’s got past the conceptual stage), not to mention paper. Would just like to inform you of your brilliance yet again.
That is really cool! And I think it says that you can add any information you want, so you don’t even have to give out really personal info, like your phone number. It would be better than giving out cards because it also has pictures of the person. And you could just take off the ring if you don’t want to give your info out to that person.
I think you would still introduce yourself to the person, so it wouldn’t take out the fun and spontaneity, either. You can only read the info using that card, anyways, so it’s obviously more for remembering the person later. That would be really helpful for people like me who forget people’s names really easily. ^^; Plus that shiny card looks awesome. *grins* I seriously doubt this would take the conversation away, esp. for the fact that you can’t view the info except w/ the card. And I seriously doubt anyone’s gonna be rude by taking it out in the middle of a conversation/meeting just to check out that person’s info, lol.
Business people would probably use it the most, and only when they were meeting clients/fellow businessmen.
I dunno, I think it’s pretty cool overall, although it’ll probably be too expensive for most people for a while. The lack of a need for batteries rocks, as well.
Fantastic. The first three things you always ask and say (then later forget) “Hi, I’m Matt, I come from the UK (my blog is …) and I like …” now the ring will remember that stuff for you. Genius.
I want one.

you guys need 2 stop being fucking cunts and stop putting down a great idea. its pretty advanced as far as technologically speeking but still its pretty amazing and i soo would get one.
Why are people always trying so hard to replace the things that are best in life like….talking, getting to know someone, flirting etc. I see this as someone saying “too lazy to be bothered getting to know someone? use our ring and save energy, meet people without actually having to meet them!”. Load of crap if you ask me.
