Human by Kristina May Olsen for Erik Joergensen

Human couch designed by Kristina May Olsen for Erik Joergensen is impressive couch landskape with impressive design and functionality.

Human is rooted in the function and structure of the human body, boiled down to its most essential form and expression, completely in line with traditional, Japanese style.
Likewise the seamless and advanced, three-dimensional felt-upholstery reflects the pronounced focus on exquisite craftsmanship, guaranteed by Danish as well as Japanese design through the ages.
When separated, Human’s two upholstered parts function as sofa and chaise longue, respectively, and together they form a comfortable berth to lie down on.
Thus Human adopts the simplicity and multi-functionality of Japanese life style, according to which a low table can easily be transformed into a bed during the night. Ideally Human’s core should be made of foam in various degrees of softness, with the felt-upholstery glued like skin onto its concave and convex curves.
